The Inclusive Forestry Peer Mentor (IFPM) team is a group of dedicated senior 2+2/3+2 transfer students (spent at least one academic year at UBC) who are interested in supporting and enhancing the study life of their peers (new incoming transfer program students), and building a sense of learning community within the Faculty of Forestry.

Weixuan (Alex) HuangConservation Weixuan (Alex) Huang is a transfer student from Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University (FAFU). His major is Natural Resource Conservation, but he is also passionate about various fields of knowledge, such as History, Philosophy, Politics, and Management. Yujie HeConservation Yujie, a transfer student from FAFU specializing in Natural Resource Conservation, has a keen interest in cell biology and biomedical sciences. Youquan GongUrban Forestry Youquan is from Ningbo. He is a 3+3 transfer student from ZAFU. He loves gardening, cooking, and board games, and is known as a non-typical ENFJ and the chef of the dorm for everyone. Fanni XuForest Resource Management Fanni Xu is a transfer student from Nanjing Forestry University (NJFU), majoring in forest resource management. She won the UBC-UBG level II scholarship in 2021 and the UBC Go Global scholarship in 2022. Her current research focuses include the ecological effects of Green for Green Program (GFGP) in Northwestern China and farmers’ perceptions of GFGP in China. Laura is from Changsha City, Hunan Province, China. She is a 3+2 student at UBC from Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University (FAFU). She is interested in painting, eating, and playing video games. She also loves anime, musical, and fluffy pets. She has volunteer and work experience as a panda keeper in the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in 2016. She also had an internship in the Hunan Academy of Forestry during the winter vacation in 2019.

Natural Resources Conservation - Global perspective
She came from FAFU to UBC in 2018 with UBC-UBG scholarship, expected to graduate in 2021. She has done research projects relating forest certification, agroforestry, and remote sensing. Participated in Go global summer exchange program in Denmark, conducted field research in IKEA headquarter and was awarded the Go Global International Learning Programs Award.

Yufei is a transfer student from Zhejiang A&F University. She came to UBC with UBC-UBG scholarship in 2019. She is willing to help freshmen answer questions about their major and life.
